Snip

This beautiful young mare was rescued from the kill lot by a group of Arabian horse angels.  It is said that Snip and her buddy Gustan, were sold to the kill buyer by people who had used them in a rodeo as "tripping" horses.

Tripping of horses closest comparison I can come up with is calf roping only in the case of the horse, they are scared into a full run and then vaqueros attempt to rope their front feet thereby tripping them.  Many break bones and are subsequently introduced to a bullet, but the really unlucky ones aren't so injured that they can't rest for a day or 2 and then go thru the terror all over again and again until they finally break so badly that they get the bullet to the head.

Shortly after Snip arrived at the rescue, she miscarried an approximately 3 to 4 month old fetus. Poor girl was sick, scared and had gone thru so much.  It was probably gods way of protecting her as she is just a baby herself. She was not strong enough to carry to term.

Because of the mistreatment that she suffered before coming to DreamCatchers, Snip is being brought along very slowly with trust building exercises.  It will be some time before she is ready to find her forever home.

We are looking for sponsors for Snip and her care while we work to bring her back to a mental place where we can begin asking more of her.
